Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) handled 34.3 million passengers last year – 14.8% more than the 29.1 million recorded in 2009. According to Bernama, citing data from Malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB), the increase was approximately double the rate of growth the airport operator had predicted at the start of the year. Increased flights from the Middle East contributed to the result.
