Durham Tees Valley Airport has teamed up with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for its latest marketing campaign.
The new promotion is one of the first moves by new owners Peel Investments, which saved the airport from closing. Its new campaign uses a ‘World on Your Doorstep’ campaign using KLM’s Durham Tees- Amsterdam route as an entry into other destinations.
“We always knew there was tremendous local pride in the airport and since February we have built on that, establishing close links with many different partners and interests, including our local authorities and Tees Valley Unlimited,” said Robert Hough, chairman of the airport at the launch on Friday.
“We all recognise that one of our most important assets is the long-standing commitment of KLM to Durham Tees Valley and the importance of their service to the area’s economy. That is why, as one of our first priorities, we have worked with the airline to develop a joint marketing campaign aimed at highlighting that, wherever you want to be in the world—whether for business or leisure—you can get there with KLM from Durham Tees Valley,” he added.
