Korean Air boosts North America
Korean Air has announced plans to increase its flights to North America this summer.
From on the start of the northern summer season on 31 March 2013, Korean Air will add flights to several destinations in the US and Canada, raising its total operations in the region to 115 weekly flights. The current five weekly flights from Seoul’s Incheon airport to Seattle, Dallas and Toronto will all be increased to daily services, while Las Vegas service will rise from three to four flights per week.
In addition, Korean Air plans to add several flights to Japan. Services on the key route between Incheon and Tokyo Narita will increase from four to five flights per day, while the Busan-Narita route will rise from once to twice a day. Other routes seeing additional flights include Incheon-Komatsu (from four to five weekly flights) and Incheon-Okayama (daily to nine weekly flights). The daily Incheon-Narita-Los Angeles route however, will be switched to Incheon-Narita-Honolulu.
In China, Korean Air will add a new route connecting Busan and Nanjing four times a week, while the Cheongju-Hangzhou route will see rise from one to four flights a week.
Other services however, will be cut. These include the complete suspension of flights to Melbourne and London Gatwick, and the reduction of flights on routes from Incheon to Jakarta (10 per week to daily) and Ho Chi Minh City (daily to four weekly flights).
