Korean Air to boost Thai services

Korean Air aims to increase its number of flights to Thailand from December, according to Bangkok Post reports. The Korean national carrier reportedly plans to up its Seoul-Bangkok flights from 14 to 18 a week, while increasing its Seoul-Phuket services from four flights a week to daily from 1 December, in the hope that Korean tourist confidence in the Thai market will have recovered.
In addition, Korean reportedly plans to increase capacity on some of its Seoul-Bangkok flights, by using its Boeing 747-400 planes to replace the existing 777-300s - an approximate addition of 44 seats per flight.
South Korea is the third largest Asian inbound market for Thailand, after Malaysia and Japan, with an estimated 1.08 million South Korean visiting the Kingdom in 2007.
