Saudi Arabia has 66 islands that are ready for tourism investment and infrastructure, according to the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH).
Rustom Al-Kubaisi, head of the SCTNH’s branch in Jazan, said in Arab News that while the islands aren’t inhabited restrooms and umbrellas had been established on three of the islands.
Tourism income from Farasan Island alone is estimated at more than SR 2 million, thanks to a fishing festival.
Free shipping to some of the islands is also already available.
