Kuoni has become the first agency chain to sign up to Advantage Travel Centres managed services scheme. The luxury holiday provider, which has 12 travel outlets in the UK, will roll out the pilot at five of its branches in Bristol, Bluewater, Cheltenham, Milton Keynes and Solihull. Kuoni’s remaining seven shops and up to eight new stores will be phased in next year. “The Kuoni retail estate is growing quickly and we need to ensure that we are delivering a tailored range of top quality luxury holidays,” said Vice President Distribution and Operations for Kuoni Derek Jones. “We have rapidly established ourselves as the leading luxury travel agent in the UK and our customers expect us to able to cater for all of their luxury travel needs. We’re not planning to sell everything though, we will hand pick a small number of key suppliers in the premium sector to recommend to our customers.” Advantage Managed Services not only offers established travel agents an opportunity to focus on selling holidays rather than administration, by off-loading its back office function, it also gives new start-up businesses a trusted leg up into the market place.
