Online hotel search site Trivago has revealed the results of its inaugural ‘Top Hotel Awards’, with eight Lake District hotels making the top 20 in the North West Hotels category.
Cedar Manor, the Cranleigh Boutique and Nanny Brow were named in the region’s top 20, with Cedar Manor scoring an impressive rating of 94.98, the Cranleigh Boutique 94.82 and Nanny Brow, 93.66, being placed 10th, 11th and 20th respectively.
Cedar Manor is a luxury boutique hotel near Windermere. The 2014 winner of Cumbria Tourism’s “best small hotel” title, the Cedar Manor went on to be runner-up in this year’s Visit England awards. It was recently named “top small hotel, national and international” by sustainability campaigner, Considerate Hoteliers.
The Cranleigh Boutique was launched in 2007, by Stephen Hargreaves, who has won numerous national and international accolades for his accommodation offerings, interior design and social media skills and now offers bespoke advice to other hoteliers.
His newest venture, the ‘Boutique Church Suites’, was named the ‘best hotel suites in the UK and second in the world’ by ‘design-et-al’, at the ‘International Hotel & Property Awards 2015’ in July. “It’s been another tremendous year for us and this acknowledgement from Trivago demonstrates that the hard work and commitment we put into our brand is working for our customers,” said Hargreaves.
Nanny Brow is one of the county’s finest Arts & Crafts properties, with 14 bespoke suites available. Acquired in 2009 by Susan Robinson, a complete refurbishment was undertaken, involving the sympathetic restoration of the original features, prior to opening to the public in 2011.
Nanny Brow was awarded a Cumbria Business Environment Network GOLD Award in November 2014 and has retained its 5 gold star AA award for the second year running. Last month, hotel manager, Emma Robinson, was nominated for ‘Front of House Manager of the Year’ at the ‘Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards 2015’.
