Las Vegas Sands to cut 4,000 HK, Macau jobs

Las Vegas Sands is planning to cut as many as 4,000 more jobs in Macau and Hong Kong, according to a Bloomberg report. The move follows the casino company’s decision to halt further construction on its US$12 billion Cotai Strip development.
Between 3,000 and 4,000 jobs will be eliminated by September, the report stated, on top of its workforce reduction to 17,500 from “close to 20,000” at the company’s headcount peak, new Chief Operating Officer, Michael Leven, was reported saying in an interview.
