Our weekly look at who has a new job in the UK and European travel industry
Stuart Lloyd has been appointed acting publisher of Travel Daily Media. Lloyd, who is a former senior director of PATA, has also owned his own marketing & communications agency with clients including Mandarin Oriental, Tourism New Zealand, South African Airways, Hilton and Sheraton.
Julie Franklin has been made group national account manager for trade at All Leisure Group. Franklin was previously national account manager for the Page and Moy Travel Group and will now be responsible for the group’s tour operator and cruise brands.
Luke Reilly has joined Ripley’s Believe it or Not! London as trade sales manager. Reilly will be developing and maintaining trade relationships in his new role, having previously worked for Legoland Windsor and Merlin Entertainments Group.
Trisha Hennessy has been appointed sales manager at Park Plaza Nottingham. She joins the hotel from Jury’s Inn Nottingham and Best Western Appleby Park Hotel and has also held sales roles at Macdonald Hotels and Marriott. In addition Darren Peters has joined Park Plaza Leeds as sales manager.
Marion Richter has joined Preferred Hotel Group as director of group sales for Central Europe. Based in Frankfurt, Richter will provide global sales support for groups and event on behalf of Preferred members. She previously worked at the German National Tourist Board.
Jo Boydell has joined Travelodge as the new chief financial officer. Boydell is to join the company on Monday and has previously held roles at Mothercare, Snap Equity, Ladbrokes, Hilton and EMI.
Harmut Mehdorn has been appointed CEO of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. Previously chief executive at airberlin, Mehdorn will now look to boost the efficiency and profile of the new airport, which is yet to be opened after several delays.
Christophe Renard has been named as the new vice president of CWT Solutions Group, the global consulting arm of Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Renard joined CWT in 1998 and has held several positions, most recently Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Business Intelligence.
Dominic Fawcett has been appointed as European media director at KAYAK. Fawcett joins the booking site from Song Music and has also held roles at Omnicom and Mindshare.
