Louise Bates has been appointed as the new partnerships development manager for the north at Holiday Extras. Bates joins from Tameside Travel, a college-based travel agency where she was manager and also tutored students.
Gary McIntyre has joined Funway Holidays as sales development executive. McIntyre joins the team from previous roles at Club Med and Wendy Wu where he was part of the trade development teams. With Funway he will look after agents in Scotland, Yorkshire and the north east.
Yvonne Kinder has been appointed AITO Agents co-ordinator. In her new role Kinder will work closely with AITO Agents members, including organising its domestic and overseas conferences and its training events.
Hervé Bellaïche has been named as executive vice president sales at Compagnie du Ponant. Bellaïche joins the cruise line from Carlson Wagonlit Travel where he was head of business development in Europe. He will be responsible for business development worldwide at the cruise line.
Ville Mineurn has been named as destination manager for England at DMC Pacific World. Mineurn will report to EMEA regional director Shaun Casey and will work to develop the MICE market to the region.
Mario Ovsenjak has been appointed general manager at new London boutique hotel Xenia. Joining from the Eton Collection at The Colonnade, Ovsenjak has also held roles at Corus Hyde Park, IHG and Thistle.
Deborah Kerr has been appointed chief product and technology officer for Sabre. Formerly with Hewlett Packard and NASA’s jet propulsion laboratory, Kerr will lead the travel technology company’s global software development. Most recently she worked in a similar role for Fair Isaac (FICO).
Rick Simonson has been announced as Sabre’s new executive vice president and chief financial officer. Simonson joins the travel technology company from Reardon Commerce, where he was president & CFO. Prior to that he spent nearly 10 years with Nokia, in several global roles.
Stuart Maxwell has been named as the new general manager at Macdonald Cardorona Hotel, Golf & spa in Peebles. He has previously held general manager roles at several hotels including Edinburgh Capital Hotel. In addition, Eileen Newman has become GM of Macdonald Crutherland House in East Kilbride.
Philippe Spagnol has been appointed general manager of Hotel Amigo, Brussels. Spagnol will oversee all aspects of the hotel and joins the Rocco Forte property from Lapa Palace, Lisbon where he was GM. Silvia Brighenti has also joined the hotel as director of sales and marketing. She will focus on growing the European and North American markets.
