Legend of the Seas sails to Miyazaki

Tokyo, March 30, 2010 - Royal Caribbean International’s Legend of the Seas called at Miyazaki for the first time today with an official ceremony welcoming her arrival. The 2,074-guest ship arrived early in the morning and is on a 7-night cruise from Shanghai visiting ports like Kobe, Fukuoka and Busan.
The traditional plaque and key ceremony was held on the ship with the participation of officials from Miyazaki city and the ship. Hirohide Kamimura, International Representative for Royal Caribbean Cruises in Japan said, “We are proud to have Legend of the Seas calling at Miyazaki for the first time. As she is also the first Royal Caribbean International ship arriving at this port, today’s maiden call has an added significance. Also, with this ship permanently based in Asia, Japanese guests will be able to enjoy more of the unique and memorable Royal Caribbean cruise vacation experience.”
Miyazaki is famed for its beautiful pacific coastline and is home to a unique Miyazaki-jingu Shrine built only with cedar situated atop the Heiwadai-keon Park which commands spectacular views of the city against the Pacific Ocean. With the addition of new ports in Japan such as Miyazaki in Legend of the Seas’ Asian itineraries, guests from around the world can now discover more of the rich culture and heritage of Japan.
As part of her year-round Asian deployment, Legend of the Seas is currently in her Shanghai season with a lineup of new 7-night itineraries visiting a variety of popular Korean and Japanese destinations.
Onboard Legend of the Seas, vacationers can look forward to an ocean of entertainment and relaxation choices such as the rock-wall, miniature golf course and the beautiful Solarium indoor pool. Once can savour a wide variety of mouth-watering international cuisines in the two-tier glass-walled Romeo and Juliet Dining Room, watch Broadway-style musicals in the 800-seater theatre or try wine-tasting at the Champagne Terrace. There are also crew fluent in Asian languages including Japanese. Most of all, virtually everything onboard is included in the price.
