Exceptional performance of LEGOLAND parks led by the popularity of The LEGO Movie has helped Merlin Entertainments continue positive trading since the summer.
The attraction park company said trading in the LEGOLAND operations remains strong, while Halloween offerings and warm UK weather has helped improve its theme park revenue growth.
Trading for Midway Attractions has remained in line as expected and recently finished its openings for the year with Madame Tussauds in Singapore.
The group now expects to post EBITDA between £407 million and £411 million for 2014.
“The trading in the balance of the year comprises primarily our year-round LEGOLAND Parks in North America and the Midway Attractions Operating Group, including the peak season for our attractions in Australia and New Zealand. Whilst there is still some significant trading to come, we are confident in delivering a strong full year result,” said Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin. “The performance this year has benefited from a number of one-off factors and whilst we remain positive on the outlook for
2015, our expectations remain unchanged. We continue to focus on our six strategic growth drivers and on delivering new memorable experiences for our visitors.”
