Hollywood actor Liam Neeson has signed up to help promote tourism to his home nation of Northern Ireland.
The Taken star, who was born in Ballymena, County Antrim, will provide the voiceover to the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s new advertising campaign which starts today.
Neeson’s recognisable voice will encourage viewers to “discover the real deal” with actress Bornagh Gallagher; Hothouse Flowers’ lead singer Liam Ó Maonlaí and tour guides also appearing in the adverts.
“I’ve always maintained that Northern Ireland is the world’s best kept secret, both in the character of its people and its scenery. I’m delighted to be part of this exciting campaign to promote the treasures of my home land.” Neeson said.
Neeson, who has also starred in Schindler’s List and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, was awarded the Freedom of Ballymena last year.
