Lindblad Expeditions will launch its first ever new-build expedition cruise ship, National Geographic Quest, next year.
Currently being built in Seattle, the 100-passenger coastal ship will operate cruises to remote locations around the world, starting with a voyage to Alaska and British Columbia, which departs on 26 June 2017.
As the vessel’s primary focus is the surrounding scenery, all public spaces will be designed to maximise the views, and there will be an outdoor walkway around the entire deck.
National Geographic Quest will feature 50 cabins, 22 of which will have balconies. Onboard there will be an al fresco bar and grill, plus an indoor restaurant and a lounge with presentation facilities.
The vessel will also come equipped with a fleet of 24 sea kayaks, paddle-boards, snorkelling equipment, and Zodiacs – fast, light boats that can be used to explore remote areas. It will also have a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), video microscope, and a hydrophone and bow-cam designed to film and record the underwater world.
