Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool FC football team kicked off their Far East tour onboard Malaysia Airlines’ Airbus A380 this week.
The LFC team posed for a group picture on the steps of the plane before departing to Hong Kong for a six-day stay during their pre-season tour, to compete for the Premier League Asia Trophy.
The three-year global partnership between Malaysia Airlines and the club was signed in October, whereby Malaysia Airlines became exclusively designated as the Official Global Airline Partner of Liverpool FC.
Peter Bellew, chief executive officer of Malaysia Airlines said: “We’re delighted to welcome Liverpool FC to the Malaysia Airlines family. Both brands have a long and illustrious history with similar cultures rooted around a sense of family.
“Liverpool FC has one of the largest number of fans worldwide, including 100 million in South East Asia and 40 million in China, our key markets. Additionally, Liverpool FC will go a long way in strengthening our brand in the UK, our gateway to Europe.”
