Deutsche Bahn has revealed that a high-speed rail service between London and Frankfurt could be launched in 2013. The journey is expected to take five hours on the 200mph ICE train, one of which will visit St Pancras next month after tests in the Channel Tunnel. “Work has already commenced with safety, infrastructure and regulatory bodies across Europe in order to meet all the requirements necessary to operate these trains,” said a Deutsche Bahn spokesperson. A service between London and Amsterdam has also been proposed, which would take less than four hours.
