London Oxford Airport has recorded its busiest weekend last week following a string of events in the region. The airport handled five times its normal traffic during the weekend, which it has attributed to the sunny weather, Henley Regatta and celebrity functions such as Kate Moss’ wedding. “This buoyant business is highly satisfying and demonstrates the attraction of our airport to both business/VIP and commercial travellers,” said James Dillon-Godfray, business development director at London Oxford Airport. “Last weekend complemented a peak month of business aviation activity in June which saw arrivals from all over the globe, with the majority of traffic to outbound Mediterranean destinations. With the steady growth in business aviation, we expect this trend to continue for some time”. The airport is expecting July to be its peak month due to the Silverstone Grand Prix, CLA Game Fair and its regular charter flights to Jersey.
