Lufthansa has announced plans to fly its Airbus A380 daily to Singapore later this year. From 30 October 2011, the German national carrier will operate superjumbo services direct from Frankfurt to Singapore’s Changi airport. The introduction of the 526-seat, three-class A380, which will replace Lufthansa’s Boeing 747-400, will add 25% more capacity on to the route.
Currently Lufthansa flies its A380s to two destinations in Asia – Beijing and Tokyo. Other global ports of call for the double-decker plane include Johannesburg, New York, San Francisco and, from next month, Miami.
