Lufthansa has unveiled its brand new First Class cabin to be deployed on its entire 747-400 fleet serving the Hong Kong – Frankfurt route. The carrier has halved the number of first class seats available from 16 to just eight, offering fliers twice as much space. Window seats have been converted to permanent beds with a sleeping surface of more than two meters and a climate regulating bed cover. Original partitions have bee replaced with fitted remote-controlled privacy shields, offering passengers the privacy to enjoy a personal 17-inch TV screen and noise cancelling headsets. Furthermore, sound-absorbing curtains have been fitted to separate First Class from other cabins.
Commenting on the new product, Andrew Bunn, General Manager of Lufthansa for Hong Kong, South China, Taiwan and Macau, said; “The concept of Lufthansa’s First Class places customers’ wishes at the centre of all considerations. That is why our new First Class has stayed away from the up-played extravagance of enclosed suites and showers and focuses more on the pleasure of open space and the freedom of controllable privacy.”
