Leading figures in the luxury travel sector are slated to discuss factors driving the industry in the region.
ALTM will be moderated by BBC News anchor and veteran journalist Akhtar Khan. Khan recently established eyeonluxury.com which calls on big names in the media and travel and tourism industry to present a luxury branded travel channel.
Serge Dive, co-founder of ALTM, will deliver the opening keynote address and examine the challenges facing the luxury industry. He will be followed by a panel discussion on how and why Asia is leading the luxury vision for the rest of the world.
The panel includes top names from Asia’s most successful hotel and resort companies including Michael Hobson of Mandarin Oriental Group, Six Senses founder Sonu Shivdasani and Serge Zaalof of Dubai-based Jumeirah.
Matthew Upchurch, Managing Director of Virtuoso will discuss the future of luxury travel, and Rupert Hoogewerf, Director of the Hurun Report, will give a presentation on the mindset of China’s newly emerging high net worth individuals.
“The ALTM Conference will set the tone for the following three days of the show and will be an excellent forum for participants to share their knowledge of the luxury travel industry in the Asia Pacific region,” said Jay Martens, ALTM event director.
