The Macao Government Tourist Office (MGTO) has held a series of promotional activities in India, with the aim of tapping into the country’s huge outbound tourism potential. Xinhua reported that seven Macau tourism industry representatives from the aviation, travel agency, hotel, MICE and entertainment sectors joined the MGTO on the visit. Events were held in Mumbai and New Delhi on 18 and 20 May respectively. Last year, the former Portuguese colony received over 100,000 visitors from India - a 30% increase from 2008. The first four months of this year has already seen close to 40,000 Indian arrivals - 67.8% more than in the same period last year.
