Maharashtra taps European market

Maharashtra has tapped the European market by conducting roadshows in Berlin and Milan.
The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) recently conducted a roadshow at Indian Embassy Hall in Berlin, Germany on the sidelines of the ITB Berlin trade show that concluded this month. Following the roadshow in Berlin, the state tourism board showcased the destination in Milan, Italy.
The tourism board had invited about 60 travel agents and tour operators promoting India and about 70 electronic and print media officials for the Berlin roadshow. The inaugural speech was delivered by Vijay Gokhale, Indian Ambassador to Germany, while Sumit Mullick, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism), Government of Maharashtra, made a presentation on the tourism highlights of the state.
For the roadshow in Milan, About 90 delegates from the travel trade attended the event, of which 90 per cent were tour operators.
