The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) plans to turn Sindhudurg’s Mithbav beach into a tourist spot. The tourist spot will be developed with a dam for water supply, resorts, business and convention centres, basic amenities as well as a golf course.
MTDC will invest INR 22 crore to build resorts and provide road infrastructure. The other tourist development will be undertaken on public-private partnerships and be based on revenue-sharing model.
“Private players have not explored Mithbav yet. Once MTDC develops the place, private players will trickle in and further develop the infrastructure here, like in the case of Tarkarli,” MTDC’s Managing Director, Jagdish Patil was quoted by the Times of India.
Plans are also afoot to promote Mango orchards of the region.
