Airfares to Nepal have dropped nearly 50% since last year, as an increasing number of Middle Eastern airlines add connections to the country. According to the Nepal Association of Tour Operators (NATO), competition between airlines has led to carriers slashing the price of their tickets from as much as NPR30,000 (INR18,400) a year ago to as little as NPR16,000 (INR9,800). Qatar Airways, Bahrain Air, Gulf Air and
Etihad Airways have all added frequencies to Nepal in the past year.
