Malaysia Airports launches hotel brand
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has launched a new hotel brand, Sama-Sama.
The new brand marks MAHB’s entry into the hotel sector and will see the development of a series of airport hotels across Malaysia. The roll-out of Sama-Sama hotels will commence with the rebranding of two properties at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). MAHB will operate the Sama-Sama KL International Airport hotel adjacent to KLIA, as well as the existing transit hotel located in the airport’s satellite building. The transit hotel will be name the Sama-Sama Express KLIA. The company also revealed that it will operate a new transit hotel at the KLIA2 – the new low-cost carrier terminal expected to open in June 2013. This property will be named Sama-Sama Express KLIA2.
“Malaysia Airports had the vision to offer every passenger who lands at KLIA a seamless travel experience – from the aircraft to the airport and to the hotel room. We will provide the connectivity, the convenience, the facilities and our unique Malaysian hospitality to welcome them,” said MAHB chairman, Dr. Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Abdullah.
“It is Malaysia Airports’ aim to take the Sama-Sama brand to other markets where we intend to brand and operate more airport hotels. The launch of the Sama-Sama brand today marks a step towards that vision,” Dr. Wan added.
MAHB currently operates 20 hotels across Malaysia, including key international hubs at KL, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Langkawi. Sama-Sama means ‘togetherness’ in Bahasa Malaysian, and the brand’s logo will feature two hands locking together.
