Malaysia will drop two dances that originated in Indonesia from its overseas tourism campaigns, a report said.
Protestors demonstrated outside the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta last week, saying that the Barongan masked dance and Endang dance belonged to Indonesia, Bernama reported.
It quoted Tourism Minister Adnan Mansor as saying that the Indonesian government also sent him letters.
“We will stop using the two dances in our tourism promotion programme,” a Tourism Ministry official was quoted saying.
