Malaysia urged to promote religious tourism

Tourism writers in Malaysia have urged the government to take a more proactive approach to religious tourism. President of the Malaysian Tourism Writers Association (Tram), Azlie Halim, told Bernama that the country already had all the necessary draws to entertain Muslim travellers, highlighting the availability of halal food, places of worship, political stability and diversity in tourism products. “This advantage should be fully exploited to attract more Muslim tourists,” he said.
