Manila is soon to have a plethora of new tourist attractions, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
Manila Bay will have an aquarium-themed hotel, food museum, jellyfish exhibit and swimming lagoons. The Manila Ocean Park has launched Sunset Quay, the floating shopping and dining arcade. The report said soon-to-open attractions include Hotel H2O, Makansutra, Jellyfish Bar, and Open Marine Habitat.
The Manila Ocean Park, opened last year, is a project by the Philippine Tourism Authority with Malaysian and Singaporean investors. The report said Hotel H2O - opening in August – would be an aquarium-themed two-story urban resort hotel with huge aquarium walls. According to Director of Sales and Marketing, Christopher John Legaspi, the hotel caters to “creative” guests.
“They’re not mere tourists, they’re travellers out to experience culture and bring something unique out of their visits,” he was quoted saying.
Guests can choose from three types of its 127 rooms and 20 suites with the Park View facing Rizal Park, the Bay View overlooking Manila Bay, and the Aqua rooms featuring aquarium walls.
For foodies, there’s Makansutra Asian Food Village, a free-admission museum-restaurant that celebrates Asian food history and culture which will showcase various Singaporean, Malaysian, Korean, Indian, Japanese and Chinese dishes.
