Australia’s Mantra Group has secured another management contract in Bali, as it continues its expansion in Southeast Asia.
The company, which launched its first property in Bali in 2013, has now signed a 261-room resort in the Nusa Dua area of the island, to be known as the Mantra Sakala Resort & Beach Club, Bali.
The resort first opened in 2013 and occupies a 2.4 hectare beachfront site at Tanjung Benoa on Bali’s southern peninsula. It will become the second Bali resort for Mantra, following the Peppers Sentosa Seminyak.

“We have sought out high quality properties to operate under management agreements in this region and Mantra Sakala Resort and Beach Club, Bali, is a great endorsement for the Mantra brand,” said Mantra’s CEO, Bob East.
“Expansion in Indonesia is certainly one of our strategies but we have focused on quality rather than quantity and will continue with this approach on future development opportunities.”
The new resort offers a total of 247 suites and 14 private one- and two-bedroom pool villas. Resort facilities include three swimming pools, a spa with eight treatment rooms, a health club, restaurants, beach club, kids’ club and almost 600m² of conference space.
Mantra now operates a portfolio of more than 115 properties under its Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree brands. As well as a large domestic portfolio in Australia, it also offers hotels and resorts in New Zealand and Bali, and plans to launch in Fiji in the near future.
