Australia’s Mantra Group has added five more hotels to its portfolio.
The new signings cover two of its brands – upscale Mantra and luxury Peppers – and five destinations, including four different Australian states and New Zealand’s South Island. In total, they will add more than 900 keys to the group’s inventory.
“This latest group of acquisition reinforces the strong momentum in our growth strategy and highlights our ability to convert our pipeline,” said Mantra’s CEO, Bob East. “With seven acquisition announcements in the first five months of [financial year] 2017, we’re well-placed to exceed last year’s record result.”
Two of the new properties will be under the Peppers brand; the 164-room Peppers Southbank in Melbourne and the 260-key Peppers Queenstown Resort in New Zealand. Both properties will launch in late 2018.
Three Mantra-branded properties will also join the company’s portfolio, starting with the 85-unit Mantra Observatory in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, and the 160-room Mantra Club Crocodile, in Queensland’s Airlie Beach, which will reopen in time for the Christmas season. Then in 2018, a brand new 26-storey hotel, Mantra 900 Hay Street, will open in central Perth.
These new hotels join Mantra’s existing portfolio of 126 properties with more than 21,000 rooms across Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Hawaii.
