Marco Polo Hotels has taken over the management of a five-star hotel in Suzhou.
The 314-room hotel, which has now been renamed Marco Polo Suzhou, is located in the historic centre of Suzhou, in eastern China’s Jiangsu province.
Hotel facilities include 10 meeting rooms, Western and Chinese restaurants, a lobby lounge, library, health club and outdoor swimming pool.
“We are delighted to be expanding our presence in Suzhou,” said Steve Kleinschmidt, President of Hong Kong-based Marco Polo. “With the addition of the Marco Polo Suzhou, the group’s portfolio of hotels in China, both operating and under development increases to 17 properties. Our rapid growth has further strengthened our brand and its awareness throughout China,” he added.
Marco Polo is expanding rapidly in China and plans to open seven new hotels in the country by 2016, including properties in Changsha, Changzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guiyang, Wuxi and a second hotel in Suzhou.
