Marriott expands in KSA with DUR Hospitality

DUR Hospitality Company recently inked an agreement with Marriott International Inc to operate an 80-unit Marriott Hotel and a 140-unit Marriott Executive Apartments, which both are currently under development by Dur in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.
Chairman of Dur Hospitality Company, Eng Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Issa, said: “These two new properties will be additional for Dur’s investments inside the Diplomatic Quarter including the ‘Darraq’ luxury residential villas, launched recently by Dur Hospitality.”
This will be the first time that an international chain will open a hotel in the Diplomatic Quarter. The completion is due in 2017, both properties to be operated and managed by Marriott International under a long-term agreement with Dur Hospitality Co (previously known as SHARACO).
CEO of Dur Hospitality, Dr Badr bin Hmoud Al-Badr further added that the amount of investment allocated for developing both properties is around SAR300 million.
