Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will ramp up its capacity next month to cater for an expected rise in demand during the country’s Hari Raya holiday period.
From 3-18 August 2013 the national carrier will add 17,310 more seats on both domestic and international routes.
These include a total of 80 additional flights – six from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket, six to Penang, four to Langkawi, 12 to Alor Setar, 10 to Sibu, 22 to Kota Bahru, six to Sandakan, eight to Kuala Terengganu, four to Kuantan and two to Tawau. These new services will add 13,294 seats to the airline’s network.
In addition, the deployment larger aircraft on flights to Bali, Kunming, Taipei, Kota Kinabaku and Kuantan will lead to the addition of 4,016 more seats.
MAS will start serving ‘bubur lambuk’ – a traditional Malay rice porridge – onboard all domestic evening and early morning flights arriving Kuala Lumpur.
