The Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) announced a host of the first of its 2013 regional forums starting with Beirut. The forums are part of its vision to bridge communication channels between local operators, suppliers, regulators and government.
The Beirut Forum will be held under the patronage of the Government of Lebanon via involvement of the Ministry of Transportation and the country’s General Civil Aviation Authority.
MEBAA will discuss and exhibit the latest advancements in safety, security, efficiency and corporate and civil acceptance of business aviation in the region.
Speaking about business aviation in Lebanon, Ali Ahmed Al Naqbi, founding chairman of MEBAA, said: “We have recognised the [business aviation] market in Lebanon is growing at a remarkable rate, dovetailing a private sector that contributes 75% towards GDP. As such business aviation is now considered to be the fourth largest market within the MENA region. With such growth must come continual dialogue with industry stakeholders ensuring that the interests of business aviation are promoted and protected. This Regional Forum will provide a platform to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities within the private aviation sector in Lebanon, Levant and its integration with the regional industry.”
