A group of about 360 travel agencies’ chiefs, tourism officials, media and academics from all over Mainland China are in Macau now on a four-day familiarisation visit.
The visit is an initiative of the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) and China Travel Service (CTS) to introduce the new Macau to its main visitor generating market.
The visit, “Experience Macau”, is the third in a series. Besides visiting attractions, the group also took part in a seminar on Macau’s tourism development.
Among the total of 21.9 million visitors that Macau welcomed in the first ten months of this year, just over half came from Mainland China.
From the first ten months of the year, visitors to Macau rose by 23%, with Mainland visitors recording a similar increase.
