The new daily service route launched by Etihad Airways to Melbourne is boosting tourism as well as to the state’s visitor economy, according to minister for tourism and major events, John Eren.
The new service creates an extra 2296 seats on the route each week, and will further strengthen Victoria’s AUD $20.6 billion tourism and major events industry.
“Etihad’s decision to operate a new service is a sign we are heading in the right direction. With new flights to Melbourne, more people will explore Victoria’s attractions and attend our events, which will grow our economy and support jobs. Victoria’s tourism stocks are strong under the Andrews Labor Government, and we want to grow it further,” said Eren.
