Hôtel Le Louis Versailles Château, MGallery by Sofitel, has opened following a renovation of the building originally constructed by the War Ministry of Louis-Napoléon III in 1854.
200 metres from the Palace of Versailles, the property is situated near the Royal Opera, the Centre de Musique Baroque, the Théâtre Montansier. and Versailles’ two main railway station. The 4-star hotel, designed by Russian architectural firm, Sundukovy Sisters, features classical architecture comprising of just four floors as properties in Versailles are not permitted to be higher than the King’s chamber in the Palace.
The boutique hotel comprises 152 rooms, including two junior suites and seven suites, ranging in size from 23m² to 62m², with names such as Louis XIV, Madame Elisabeth, Vauban, Marie-Antoinette and Vigée Le Brun.
In L’Alcôve, the hotel’s bar-restaurant, shades of dark green symbolise the Gardens of Versailles and a lion statue embodies royal power. The bar’s mixologists offer specially curated cocktails, such as the Bas et Masque with Diplomatico Blanco Reserve Rum, the Marie Antoinette, and Elle et Louis.
Hotel Le Louis Versailles Château’s location allows it to offer a personalised tour of the Palace of Versailles; tours created by the palace’s guides feature the apartments of King Louis XV and Louis XVI, gold-decorated offices, the library of Louis XVI and the apartments of the King’s mistresses Mme de Pompadour and Mme Dubarry.
