International hospitality group, MGM Mirage, is set to operate three of its world-famous hotels – the Bellagio, MGM Grand and Skylofts – in Dubai as part of the AED15 billion (US$4.1 billion) Dubai Pearl project, Gulf News has reported. They will be MGM Mirage’s first Dubai properties.
It is also MGM Mirage’s first operation in the Middle East. The group already owns and operates 16 properties in Nevada, Mississippi and Michigan, and has 50% investments in four other properties in the US, and one in Macau.
Developer Pearl Dubai will own and finance the 250-room Bellagio hotel, the 350-room MGM Grand hotel and 30-suite Skylofts hotel, the report stated. MGM Mirage will manage and provide all the technical expertise necessary for the venture.
Commenting on the announcement, Gamal Aziz, President and Chief Executive Officer of MGM Mirage Hospitality, was reported saying; “Dubai Pearl is a production born out of enhanced creativity and imagination and our properties will inspire travellers and residents with a sense of liveable luxury that infuses energy and excitement with sophisticated service.”
