MGM Resorts International has started rolling out what it claims to be the “hospitality industry’s largest next-generation Wi-Fi network”.
In partnership with Mobilitie and Cisco, the hotel and casino operator is installing high-speed Wi-Fi throughout its Las Vegas resorts. The installations cover the low-rise public spaces – including pools, casinos, lobbies and restaurants – at the Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, ARIA, Vdara and The Shops at Crystals.
The multi-resort Wi-Fi roll-out promises up to 30% faster connectivity, with tiered Wi-Fi services offering users the chance to connect with multiple devices. Convention guests will be offered connection speeds of up to 10 Mbps.
“No one else in Las Vegas, and even the world, within the hospitality industry can offer the scale, quantity and quality of wireless services we now have available,” said John Bollen, senior vice president & chief digital officer for MGM Resorts International.
“We implemented the same commercial-grade technology and design solutions used at last year’s Super Bowl and Summer Olympics to provide even better engagement with MGM Resorts’ world-class destinations. With this new capability and the right technology partners, we are developing and enhancing innovative products and services based on our customers’ needs, interests and preferences to deliver the best possible experience at our premier resorts.”
There will also be a series of opt-in services, including an interactive resort map, restaurant menus and promotional offers.
