Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO) and Viva Macau Airlines have linked up to promote Macau tourism in Vietnam and Indonesia, MGTO has announced. The ‘Experience Macau. Fly Viva Macau’ Festival was held in Ho Chin Minh City and Jakarta in late July, in an effort to boost awareness and attract more visitors to the former Portuguese colony.
MGTO revealed that statistics showed rapid growth of visitor arrivals from Indonesia and Vietnam to Macau for the first half of 2008. Indonesian visitor arrival figures recorded a 69.2% year-on-year rise to over 77,000, while close to 32,000 visitors arrived from Vietnam – a 67.3% growth.
