A new e-mobility solution has been officially launched in Dubai. The solution is aimed at offering residents and tourists an eco-friendly and healthy alternative to get about town. The MIBISI Automatic Bicycle Rental System is a bike sharing concept offering a sustainable means of urban transportation.
MoveUs UAE introduced the concept at the on-going Gulf Traffic event.
Ahmed Abdullah Ali Ahli, general manager of MoveUs UAE said: “The MIBISI Bike Sharing system is an initiative that has been implemented successfully by our partner in Valencia, Spain and with the emerging Middle East trends to improve intermodal sustainable transport systems, now is the right time to adapt the same model to this region.”
The MIBISI Bike Sharing system works by setting up bases at different locations of up to 20 bikes each. Users would pre-register and pre-pay hourly to use the bikes before collecting and dropping off at any given base location.
Added Ahli: “We are now in the process of registering with the Dubai Road and Transport Authority, and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Transport.”
The company plans to introduce other urban mobility solutions across the Middle East, including electric bike and car sharing systems.
