Millennium & Copthorne announces 12 hotels openings in 12 months

Millennium & Copthorne, Middle East and Africa recently announced plans to substantially expand its operating portfolio in the Middle East region over the next year with 12 hotel openings.
The hotel openings will be in UAE, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and its first property in Georgia. The new properties will add over 4,000 rooms to the Group’s existing operating portfolio of 26 hotels in the region, reinforcing its position to stay on track to have 100 hotels by 2020.
Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi, president and CEO, Millennium & Copthorne MEA said: “Our new openings will see us extend our presence across the Gulf region as well as in new markets such as Georgia. We are building an enviable market share from midscale through to luxury.”
He added; “We believe we are in a strong position to meet needs of the market by offering global expertise alongside an understanding of the local market. These new openings bring us closer to our ambitious vision of having 100 hotels by 2020.”
The next property opening is Bab Al Qasr in Abu Dhabi which is part of “The Biltmore Collection”. The property will offer 677 rooms and residences, private beach, Moroccan spa, 16 meeting rooms and a Grand Ballroom.
The opening will be closely followed by Biltmore hotel Tbilisi in Georgia. This property will feature 216 keys along with bespoke services and facilities. In Saudi Arabia, Millennium & Copthorne’s upcoming openings include Millennium Hotel Jizan and Millennium Tabouk, M Hotel Makkah, Kingsgate Al Safa Hotel, Kingsgate Al Henawy Hotel and a further property in Madinah.
