More access to northern Thailand
The flights are intended to substitute the services suspended earlier this month by the budget carrier Nok Air, which is carrying out repairs until late November on its 66-seat ATR 72 aircraft.
Bangkok Post said the SGA flights would also complement the three daily ATR flights provided by Thai Airways International during a period of high demand at the start of the peak travel season.
SGA operates three other scheduled routes: Bangkok-Hua Hin, Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai-Pai.
According to the report, SGA would continue the Chiang Mai-Mae Hong Son flights until the end of the tourism season if demand was good.
