More Korean routes to US following visa waiver

Indian low-cost carrier, IndiGo, is considering launching scheduled servicesto Thailandnext year, according to a Bangkok Post report. Bangkok is thought to be the first amongoverseas destinations being planned by IndiGo, the airline having fulfilledIndian regulatory requirements permitting the launch of international services.
The LCC is reportedly contemplating linking the Thai capital with key Indianhubs such as Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru and IndiGo’s home base of New Delhi, according to Pavin Sachaphimukh, Chairman ofNancy Group Company, which acts as IndiGo’s passenger sales agent in Thailand.
By launching services to Thailand,IndiGo would be moving to take advantage of the relatively untapped low-costtravel market between the two countries. Indo-Thai routes are currently servedby four airlines; Thai Airways, Jet Airways, Cathay Pacific and Air-IndiaExpress, which together offer approximately 90 flights a week, the report said.
Last year over 536,000 Indian tourists visited Thailand,according to TAT statistics, making it the second most popular Asiandestination for Indian tourists after Singapore.
