India’s Ministry of Tourism (MoT) will organise the “Global Travel Mart India” on an international level this year. The announcement was made by Tourism Minister, Subodh Kant Sahai, in a press conference today at the PATA Travel Mart in New Delhi. The exact dates for the event will be worked out in due course, with other international events in mind. Sahai said, “This event will be organised by the Ministry to give an opportunity to bring all stakeholders under one platform and allow them to interact on various ways and initiatives to grow the tourism business.” The event will be organised by the Ministry in association with other organisations. Hyderabad and New Delhi are possible cities on radar for the Global Travel Mart India.
As well as the annual trade fair, the MoT will also organise a Buddhist Conclave by inviting Buddhist countries to participate. Other details on the exact nature of the conclave were not divulged at the press conference.
