Motel One has opened the doors to its first Swiss property.
Located in Basel, the new 143 room hotel is located in the city’s exclusive old town setting, Barfüssergasse 16. The new hotel is adjacent to the famous Barfüsserplatz with landmarks such as the Basel Cathedral, the town hall and Saint Peter’s Square all within walking distance.
To give customers a unique travel experience, each Motel One takes its design influences from its local area. Motel One Basel has taken its inspiration from the local art scene and has worked with two well-known artists when creating the high design and artistic interiors within the property.
Upon entering the hotel visitors are greeted with a piece of art by the famous local graffiti artist Adrian Falkner alias “Smash 137”. The work titled “Soundscape”, features abstract circular shapes representing speech and thought bubbles associated with the energy and conversations flowing from the One Lounge guests.
The bathrooms are elegantly fitted with granite and glass Dornbracht washbasin fittings, as well as a monsoon rain shower. Guests will enjoy the little extra touches such as the organic hand wash, shower gel and the handy make-up mirror. Clever functional design ensures there is plenty of storage space too. Guests will enjoy the benefits of free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel.
Single rooms at Motel One Basel from 98 CHF, double rooms from 113 CHF. A selection of regional and organic products is offered for breakfast for 14,50 CHF.
