Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed a new hotel in China’s Hubei province.
Located in the city of Enshi, the 14-storey upscale hotel will feature 250 rooms plus two restaurants, a bar, a club lounge, swimming pool, spa and a fitness centre. It will also include a significant amount of conference and banqueting space, with eight meeting rooms and a 515m² ballroom.
“The Mövenpick Hotel Enshi will be our first opening in China, marking an important milestone for our company. Chinese consumers regard Swiss products and services as refreshingly different and we are looking forward to leveraging our Swiss roots and culinary legacy to carve a unique niche in this fascinating country,” said Andreas Mattmüller, Chief Operating Officer for Mövenpick in Asia & the Middle East.
By 2015, Mövenpick expects to have four properties open in China: the upcoming hotel in Enshi, plus a 380-room resort in Sanya, a 350-room property in Inner Mongolia, and a 300-room hotel in Shanghai.
