Natalie, Alpha Tours congress kicks off

The ninth edition of the annual congress of Alpha Tours and Natalie Tours was kicked off at Atlantis the Palm. The event was inaugurated by HE Helal Said Almerri, director general of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
The event witnessed participation from 250 representatives of the Russian travel agencies. Almarri said that Dubai Tourism Vision for 2020 objective states to welcome 20 million annually. In 2012 Dubai welcomed 10 million visitors for the first time, the vision requires a doubling of this figure to meet the 2020 target.
He stressed that growth in the Russian market exceeded all expectations due to the work of our partners such as Alpha tours and Natalie tours. In the coming years, the Russian market will be one of the main markets for Dubai
The five-day congress is being held with a focus on boosting tourist from the Russian market to Dubai. Present at the function, were Natasha Vorobieva, CO & GM – Natalie Tours, Ghassan Al Aridi, CEO – Alpha Tours, Marwan Abdin, CEO of Dubai Health Care City as well as a number of DTCM senior officials.
Ghassan Al Aridi, CEO – Alpha Tours said: “We managed to attract around 220,000 Russian tourists in 2012. This number is expected to increase by 25-30% this year.”
