Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic have unveiled plans to launch a new series of expedition cruises in the South Pacific.

The five new itineraries include a series of multi-day voyages from March to August 2018 aboard the National Geographic Orion ship.

Part research vessel, part cruise ship, the 102-passenger National Geographic Orion is equipped with a range of exploration tools including snorkelling and scuba gear, a glass-bottomed boat, kayaks, paddleboards,  a fleet of Zodiacs and a remote operated vehicle (ROV) that can reach depths of more than 300 metres. A dive master is also stationed onboard.

Itineraries include the 18-day ‘Easter Island to Tahiti’ voyage, which includes a stop at the remote Pitcairn Island, the 16-day ‘Tahiti to the Marquesas’ which explores the islands of French Polynesia, the 16-day ‘Cook Islands to Fiji’ cruise which covers five different Pacific island nations, and other nine-day itineraries focusing on French Polynesia.

Guests who book any of the South Pacific departures by 31 March 2017 will receive complimentary international economy roundtrip airfares from Los Angeles.
