Norwegian Cruise Lines has confirmed that its Norwegian Jewel cruise ship will homeport in Australia in the 2017-18 season.
Following a relocation cruise from Vancouver to Sydney, Norwegian Jewel’s Australasian itineraries will start in October 2017. The season will include seven round-trip cruises from Sydney, including a five-night voyage to Tasmania and a nine-night itinerary that includes Eden, Kangaroo Island and Tasmania.
The cruise ship will also offer 10- to 16-night Australia and New Zealand itineraries departing between November 2017 and February 2018, including visits to New Zealand’s Milford Sound and Bay of Islands.
Then on 20 February 2018 Norwegian Jewel will embark on an 18-night sailing from Sydney to Singapore, calling at Queensland, Darwin and Indonesia’s Komodo Island.
The ship will then be based in Asia for the rest of 2018, with twin homeports in Southeast and Northeast Asia.
Speaking to Travel Daily earlier this week, NCL’s senior vice president & managing director for Asia Pacific, Steve Odell, said the ship was likely to homeport in Singapore and Japan. Asian itineraries will include visits to Vietnam, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China and South Korea.
